With the Locals

With the Locals x Brooklyn Bicycle Co. : Nashville

This is it! Our last Brooklyn Bicycle Guide. I know, I know. But it's been such a blast exploring so many new cities on bike with you guys. A big fat thank you to our pals over at Brooklyn Bicycle Co. for helping to create these bike-friendly local-approved travel guides. Last up, Nashville with our buddy Graphic Designer Ben Lalisan.

Hi, I’m Ben Lalisan, a designer and photographer based in Nashville, Tennessee. I’m really excited to team up with With The Locals and Brooklyn Bike Co and show you around a few of my favorite spots in Nashville. We are really fortunate to have a network of pedestrian and bike-friendly roads called the Nashville Greenway. It allows locals to walk or bike through many of the neighborhoods around Nashville. Germantown is one of my most favorite neighborhoods and I’ll show you a couple of my favorite spots there as well.

Germantown is a quaint neighborhood undergoing an amazing revitalization and some of my favorite coffee shops and restaurants are here.

(at Germantown, Nashville)

Barista Parlor Germantown is a great little coffee shop with a super chill vibe. With craft coffee, doughnuts from Five Daughters and tasty biscuit sandwiches, you can’t go wrong here. It’s also a great place to get some work done.

Steadfast is my favorite coffee shop in Germantown. Not only do they do coffee, but it’s also a great place for breakfast and lunch. I especially love their granola.

Stopped next to 5th and Taylor. I haven’t eaten there yet, but I hear the food is amazing. What’s also amazing is the architecture outside the restaurant - a mix of rustic and modern.

Me and my thoughts… and my bike. I love this bike. The build quality is solid while being incredibly light.

Nashville is a creative town. Mural and graffiti artists J. Dante Bard and Troy Duff’s work adds much-needed interest for the greenway entrance and Two Rivers Park.

One of the iconic bridges in Nashville - Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge connects Two Rivers Park to Shelby Bottoms Park in East Nashville. The Roebling makes exploring Two Rivers Park and Shelby Bottoms Park a lot of fun!
