Unfortunately, although something we're trying to change with this project, many cities in close proximity to much larger places, can get drowned out by the noise. So a city only a couple hours from NYC, like Hartford CT, doesn't get the attention it should. "Hartford is really up and coming... The art scene is thriving, it is full of amazingly talented creatives, and it's not too shabby in the dining department either. The people around here are really trying to build a greater sense of community, and I'm happy that I can be around to experience that." When I asked this week's Local @anaiseprince what's the most Hartford thing about her... "Concerts at the Meadows and the Webster Theater, and attending both U of H and UCONN...I'm as Hartford as it gets. Not really though, but close"
Close enough, @campwilson
Hello world! @anaiseprince here, reporting from Hartford, Connecticut, conveniently nestled in-between Boston and New York City. I can't wait to take you around Connecticut's capital city, and share my favorite places with you. I thought I'd start off by representing CT in the cutest way possible. These adorable Connecticut shaped necklaces were on display at @blazeandbloom, an amazing local vintage boutique. If you're in the area, it's an absolute must-go place for your holiday shopping. It's like an Anthropologie for the financially savvy.
#caseofthemondays // I'm going to stray off course momentarily while I get my life together and come back to reality. Weekends are great, Mondays are rough, and I wish I was still home in bed. //One of my all time favorite places in Hartford is my apartment. We moved to the city in April and I am absolutely smitten. It's a loft style apartment with high ceilings, big windows and gorgeous natural light. It's seriously a creative's dream. It was the first and only apartment we looked at, and as soon as we walked in it was a done deal. I highly recommend everyone come be neighbors with us (they're even dog friendly!) Hop on over to @anaiseprince to take a peek at our cozy space.
So, I mentioned in my last post that I loved my apartment, but it's not for the reasons you think. Sure the high ceilings, big windows and dreamy light give it brownie points but the real cherry on top is this gem of a restaurant, right outside our door. Yes, you read that right...and I meant it. An amazing little restaurant sits in the parking lot of our apartment buidling, ready for me to eat tacos as frequently as I please (which may or may not be a good thing). La Casita Del Sabor translates to the Little House of Flavor, and they definitely deserve that title. YUM. Head over to @anaiseprince to see what else we've got cookin' in our neighborhood.

I mean, we may as well keep the #allcarbdiet going all day, right? These adorable and delectable treats are from Tastease, another hidden gem right around the corner from my apartment. It's a small mom and pop restaurant that also serves breakfast and lunch, but let's be honest...who wants a real meal when you can get an assortment of mini donuts like this. -- They don't have a website, and you have to call ahead in December for your donut orders, but I promise, you won't be disappointed. -- @anaiseprince
Stationary, gifts, and clothing, oh my! If you're looking to represent Hartford in the cutest and most fashionable of ways, @hartfordprints has you covered. Their website describes them as "a letterpress studio and stationary store that is all about family. We are three sisters and a press making pretty paper in our home city of Hartford, Connecticut."
You go girls. -- @anaiseprince

We are one week away from Christmas, and two weeks away from NYE, which means it's time to get your sparkle on! I am a big fan of all things vintage, so it wasn't hard for me to fall in loooove with Laree aka @itsvintagechic from Vintage Chic by Design. Her eye for style is on point, and we have collaborated on multiple photo shoots together using her amazing vintage finds. If you love vintage clothing and sparkles as much as I do, you must check out her boutique, and get this...she shares a location with @hartfordprints, talk about a one stop shop! Don't let anyone dull your sparkle this holiday season. Head on over to @anaiseprince, and head to anaiseprince.com to check out some of our collaborations, we even did a NYE inspired shoot last year! //
Happy Friday locals! The next stop on our tour dè Hartford is @thedirtsalon. As I mentioned in my bio, the art scene is thriving in this area, especially in my neighborhood. The Dirt Salon is only a hop, skip and jump from my apartment, and the home of my boyfriend's woodworking shop. It's a collaborative studio and event space filled with creative minds. They even have parties from time to time. I took this shot last month at their Dia De Los Muertos party 💀. Check me out over at @anaiseprince to see what other hip events have gone down at the salon.

You guys, I can't stop thinking about the Royal Thai Wings from Trumbull Kitchen last night. They were mouth watering, fall off the bone delicious. And the calamari! I can't even. This snazzy restaurant is located in downtown Hartford on Trumbull Street, and was my pick for date night yesterday. I'm on my way to shoot a wedding with chicken wings my mind. It's going the be a long day. Follow along at @anaiseprince to see where today's winter wedding takes me!

Sushi anyone? 🍣 Umi Sushi & Tapas aka @umisnt is the coolest sushi spot you've never been to...and why is that you ask? Because these cute little color coordinated plates go round and round on a conveyor belt as you sit at your table. You can order off of their full menu, create your own sushi roll, or enjoy the conveyor belt at your leisure while you down a scorpion bowl, or two. -- @anaiseprince

As you've seen over this last week, Hartford is full of sweet spots with fun things to do, see & eat. Today I'm adding a little bit of history to that list with The Wadsworth Atheneum (@thewadsworth). It is the first public art museum in the United States, and the first museum in America to begin collecting contemporary American art. Hartford is très cool.
I have had the absolute best time sharing bits and pieces of Hartford with you. I bid you adieu with Bushnell Park, where I spend my summers laid out with my favorite people for jazz in the park, a firm handshake, and the Capitol building. It's been a great week locals! Come hang out with me over at @anaiseprince to see more of my adventures through Hartford.
