Fact of the Week #1: Cincinnati Ohio is the Branding Capital of the World. "Tens of millions of dollars are generated yearly in Cincinnati through the branding industry. Many of the world's largest branding, advertising and packaging design firms, as well as some of the nation's most notorious advertisers were founded and continue to flourish here in Cincinnati. There is also a huge start-up culture that has begun to blossom in recent years."
Fact of the Week #2: They put Chili on spaghetti. And maybe just about everything else. "'Cincinnati-style' chili, a thinner and somewhat sweet chili that is poured over things like hot dogs, baked potatoes and spaghetti. A coney is a regular hot dog and bun, but with chili, cheese, onions, mustard and hot sauce on it. They sound a little unusual, but they're delicious." However this week's local Jimmy Balough @jimmybalough warned that even though "Cincinnatians are about as sweet as they come. ...They’re also relentless about their food. Seriously, if you don’t like the chili or the ice cream, they don’t like you." Looks like we're all on the same page, until next week!

Hi everyone, @jimmybalough here! I'm very excited to show you around this week and share some of my favorite spots in Cincinnati. Here's a look at one of the best coffee shops in the city, Collective Espresso @collective_espresso.
These guys are setting the pace of coffee culture in Cincinnati. Their whole philosophy is to be as simplistic as possible and let the coffee speak for itself. It's a true neighborhood gem, and a regular stop on my way to work.

It's been a long winter in Ohio, and February was particularly frigid. Right about now, I'm missing Cincinnati's public parks and dog walks in the sunshine. But for now, while it's still below freezing, I go to Krohn Conservatory – a beautiful place full of warmth and natural plant life. On days like today, it's my own little slice of temperature-controlled heaven.
If you're in the area, be sure to check out their annual Butterfly Show. It's spectacular.

@articlemenswear is one of my very favorite shops in Cincinnati. Founded as a men's blog, Article is now a curated men's store specializing in American-made goods. Every time I turn around, they're re-stocking new products from @shinola, @billy_reid, @tannergoods and others.
They're opening a new store, @idlewildwoman, this spring and I'm sure it will be just as great.
Article is a wonderful representation of the local small business community, and a must-see on your next trip through town.

It's me again, @jimmybalough! The city of Cincinnati has an incredibly rich brewing history – one that is going through a major revival. @rhinegeist, translated to "Ghost of the Rhine," refers to the brewery's historic location in the Over-the-Rhine Brewery District. It was built within the skeleton of the old Moerlein bottling plant (built in 1895) and is home to many of my very favorite beers. They saw a huge space, full of potential and turned it into a Cincinnati staple. Pretty awesome, huh?
Oh, man. I don't even know where to begin with this one. @elisbbq is, quite possibly, my favorite restaurant in Cincinnati. Pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, jalapeño cornbread – you get the idea. They were founded on the idea that "it's the atmosphere, the food and the people that simmer together to make a place" – something I and the rest of this city wholeheartedly believe in. This was taken at their second location in the historic Findlay Market, and is just a few minutes from where I work.

Every city needs a quiet place for studying, working and meetings with friends. A place with warm coffee and large pours of wine. And live jazz. And buttery croissants. And tons of natural light. And exposed brick.
In Cincinnati, 1215 is that place @1215winecoffee. And man, oh man, is it a good one.
At Noble Denim, it's a "craft birthed from curiosity and the love of the process." A commitment to local and sustainable manufacturing and the creation of durable, timeless and well-fitted garments. It's a perfect representation of the creativity and craftsmanship this city has to offer.
Check out @nobledenim for more information on the brand's backstory and to grab yourself a pair of hand-crafted, beautifully designed jeans. And as always, support local business!

Maybe you've figured this out by now, but I'm addicted to coffee. And breakfast sandwiches. And the absolute best place for those two things is Cheapside Café (@cheapsidecincinnati). The people, the food, the environment – all incredible. Seriously people, get you some.

I know I've been sharing a lot of my favorites, but this one might just take the cake. I've always loved plants – from tiny cacti to super tall aspen trees. Fern (@fernshopcincinnati) is a perfect little oasis during this snowy Ohio winter. Full of bright sun, beautiful plant life and a sweet-as-pie shop owner, it's most definitely my happy place.
@jimmybalough, signing off! It's been an incredible week of exploration and photo sharing. I've loved serving as your tour guide and hope to see a few of you around Cincinnati in the very near future! This last picture was taken on a walk around town. If you do nothing else while you're here, take a walk. Admire the architecture, talk to the people, soak in everything this wonderful place has to offer.
Thanks to everyone who participated this week!
