While getting closer to the two year mark on when this party first got started, I'm evaluating what we're putting out into the world. One point I keep coming back to is - how do our environments impact and support us creatively. Something I ask every single week to each Local.
Jes, @_jsett - "Living in Fayetteville has challenged me as a photographer. Coming from a city like Chicago, I was acclimated to the accessibility of shooting any and everything the moment I walked out of my apartment. I primarily shot architecture while living in Chicago and when I moved I shifted toward landscape photography and portrait photography. I was very involved in the Instagram community in Chicago and the Fayetteville community is not as developed. I held the first instameet in Fayetteville and helped grow the community. I learned a lot from the people I met because a lot of them were professionals and did photography for a living. What started out as a hobby for me has grown to be so much more." And that's just it, isn't it. In whatever enviorment... you have to give love and support to get it.
Good morning everyone! I'm @_jsett & I'm excited to be hosting this week.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@arsagascoffeeroasters is one of my favorite coffee shops in the area and it was founded by the Arsaga family. This location on Church and Center is close to the Fayetteville square and it opened up a few months ago. Their specialty besides delicious coffee drinks is toast. Now if you're like me I was skeptical and thought "what could be so special about toast?" but lemme tell ya, from savory to sweet they know what they're doing. My favorite special a few weeks back had pistachios and goat cheese on it. It was delicious! Hope you all have a great week!
The Fayetteville Public Library is the first "green" building in Arkansas and it's a symbol of Fayetteville's eco friendly tree USA culture. I love this place not only because the selection of new releases is pretty up to date but the architecture is beautiful. @_jsett
Good morning everyone! Today I want to take you to one of my favorite places just 30 min south of the city, Artist Point. Fayetteville is nestled in the Ozark Mountains and this is one of the best places in the area to watch the sunrise. On a good day fog rolls through the valley and once the sun rises you can see down to the lake. Down below is a hike to a beautiful waterfall. The walk back up is a little steep, but that doesn't stop families and friends from coming out and enjoying this view. - @_jsett
While bubble tea isn't unique to Fayetteville, Bobo's ribbon ice has a delicious selection of it! Not only that, but their selection of ribbon ice is great too. It's 90 degrees here this week and this is just the treat I need. What's your favorite summer treat? - @_jsett
Hey everyone. We have made it halfway through the work week! Today is #waterfallwednesday and I wanted to share this waterfall at Natural Falls State Park. It's a little under an hour away from Fayetteville heading toward Tulsa, OK. While it's technically in Oklahoma it's becoming more of an Arkansas attraction. I love this waterfall because you can view it from many different angles and it's a natural fall as the name states. It's definitely something to check out if you're heading into Fayetteville from Tulsa or if you're heading to Tulsa from Fayetteville. 😃 - @_jsett
Bella Vista, Arkanas is the northern most city in Northwest Arkansas. This church is located there nestled in the woods and the architecture is breathtaking! There are 2 other chapels such as this one designed by E. Fay Jones all in Arkansas. - @_jsett
Good morning! One of my favorite coffee shops in the area is @onyxcoffeelab. Their coffee creations are pretty neat. This drink is called the smores gilbraltor. Graham cracker toasted marshmallow and all. There are 3 locations in the area all unique in their own way. I love this place because of the community tables and rooms. Makes it convenient to catch up with friends. - @_jsett
Arkansas is one of the best places to hike. Just a little over an hour away from Fayetteville there is a trail that takes you here to Hawksbill Crag. What I love about this area is that there is so much to do around here. Campgrounds, floating, more trails, waterfalls, etc. If you're thinking of paying Northwest Arkansas a visit a trip to the Buffalo River area is a must! The people at the @buffalo_outdoor_center are knowledgeable and friendly. - @_jsett
This Fayetteville staple is known for their burgers. It has an underground speak easy vibe on a popular downtown Fayetteville strip. They have delicious crepes such as the grasshopper which has mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate drizzle on top. My favorite thing to get is the Derek's special. -@_jsett
Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week and have a great weekend ahead. I love @puritancoffeebeer for their rotating selection of beers, atmosphere, and patio. They're attached to @fayettechill and located on Dickson which is a popular street here for bars, music venues, restaurants, you name it. Cheers! -@_jsett
One of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat on the weekends is @boucheebistro. I love this place because it's quaint and the chefs are friendly. I get the croquet madame and cauliflower soup when they have it. They make specialty pastries and a few months ago they opened up Bouchée Kitchen. Happy Brunching! - @_jsett
Hey everyone! @_jsett here for my last post. This is a shot from Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville. It's the largest American art museum in the area. It's free to enter with the exception of a few exhibits they have every couple of months which aren't too expensive. The grounds are beautiful and are a part of the the amazing trail system we have here for walking, biking, etc. I love this museum because not only are the exhibits great but the architecture of the building alone is pretty neat. It was one of the first things that attracted me to it. 😃 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've enjoyed hosting this week and hope you all enjoyed some of the places I showcased in Fayetteville and the Northwest Arkansas area. There are many more things I would have enjoyed sharing with you all, but if you are ever in the area feel free to shoot me a message!
