"Growing up I had a lot of friends that just wanted to 'get out of Greensboro' instead of plugging themselves into their community. No place is truly better than another (unless you’re in Paris, then Paris is better than everything), it’s all about what you make of it." That born and raised enthusiasm comes from Chelsea Clayton @imthebirdie. Native to Greensboro North Carolina, Chelsea is also a very talented photographer and Shop Girl at @HudsonsHill. "Greensboro is rich with denim roots and we strive to sell the highest quality in everything. We sell locally made, regionally made and USA made products, including our own in house line of clothing, denim wares and leather goods." As far as her evident love of photography, "@Instagram challenges me daily. I am constantly inspired by other peoples work that really makes me think, makes me want to be a better photographer. It has also brought me some of my closest friends and I couldn’t be more grateful." As always, we'll be exploring with someone who not only loves their location but believes in the community. "It’s home. There is nothing better than home. Greensboro seems to me to have something for everyone at every stage of life. I really appreciate that about it and hope others do too."
Late, late lunch or early dinner. Beef Burger (known as Biff Burger to us locals) has been around for over 50 years and you'll want to just get the special. Just get it, trust me. The place has a lot of character and a lot of characters, making it fun to people watch. I have two other burger places in town I hope to show off this week too, so hang tight for those! - @imthebirdie

Walking around downtown and I hear a tapping on the glass as I pass by and realize it's my mom & dad. We then enjoyed an impromptu coffee date at PB & Java @pbandjava one of Greensboro's newest and most adorable cafes. I got a dirty chai and we spilt a Bangkok Bomb (peanut butter, Thai basil, fresh ginger & sweet chill sauce).

One of my favorite places to go is @localhoneysalon in downtown Greensboro. Not only are they all fantastic stylist there, the place is so welcoming with southern charm. You can get a local beer, wine or a cuppa while you get your hair done. You can also buy, duh, local honey from all over North Carolina along with other great apothecary items. Their blowouts are fantastic and they also do incredible beard maintenance! Definitely a great place to just relax and feel pampered!

As a local photographer I'm always on the lookout for different places to shoot that feel like an escape. Plants & Answers big greenhouse is a beautiful place to walk around and take a few pictures and maybe pick up a few cute little succulents too. Being in greenhouses always make me happier.
Sticks & Stones @sticksandstonesclayoven is the best pizza in Greensboro, hands down. Sticks opened in 2008 and has been a staple for pizza lovers all across town. But you should also try their burgers, fries and the AMAZING biscuits they have for breakfast Saturday mornings. This place really has it all going on. Oh! And everything (minus desserts) is named after a Ryan Adams song. Clever. - @imthebirdie
When you come to Greensboro you need to visit @elsewheremuseum. Elsewhere is an artist collaborative and museum in downtown. 3 floors of incredible installations by the different artists in residents. It only costs $1 to look around and you're supporting local art and artists.
Crafted - the Art of Street Food @eatatcrafted is my new favorite restaurant in Greensboro. Kristina Fuller is such an amazing chef with such great vision. She first opened Crafted- the Art of the Taco in 2012, which has been a huge success (go there too!) and just recently opened Street Food. They offer a wonderful range of food from Caribbean to Korean. Highly recommend this place!
My friend Jenny & I were met with curry popcorn before we even ordered. Oh my goodness, I would have never thought to put that together, but let me tell you it was the best popcorn of my life. Just you wait for our food! @eatatcrafted
Fridays you go to Spring Garden Bakery @springgardenbakery for BOGO muffins and to just hangout. $2 for two delicious muffins, it's a steal. My favorite are the pumpkin chocolate chip & blueberry.
I love where I work. Truly. It is such a great store and I feel so honored to call it part mine. We do everything in our power here at @hudsonshill to provide the highest quality in everything we make and sell. If you ever find yourself in Greensboro definitely pop in and see us! Come sit on the couch and watch an old movie with us and get to know Greensboro's history and our love for it.

Denim is a huge part of Greensboro (Cone Mills Cotton started here) and we loooove denim here at @hudsonshill. We have an awesome collection of vintage jeans, jackets, beautiful raw & selvidge denim and much more. We also make custom jeans as well as custom leather goods. This is such a cool place to work. Seriously, stop by a see us!

Saturday mornings are for biscuits and @sticksandstonesclayoven has the best in town. I love getting group texts Saturday morning saying "biscuits?!" And then getting to spend time with my favorite people. Great pizza, great biscuits. It's so good.
It's hot today. So, obviously I had to get ice cream and you MUST go to Yum Yum's. Best ice cream in town and (imo) best hotdogs too. Yum Yum's is a classic spot in Greensboro and has been in business for over 100 years run by the same family. I highly recommend getting hotdogs and ice cream while you're in town (FYI it's cash only). Are you sick of food posts yet? I'm not!
I love walking around downtown at night, especially on the south end now that they put up these lights on Lewis & Elm St. It's such a nice touch to a really adorable part of town. And while you're down there, stop into Table 16 @table16gso for an incredible dinner!

Thank you guys so much for following me around all week in my hometown! For my last post I wanted to take you to my favorite place for my favorite thing. Afternoon Tea at The O.Henry Hotel. I am a huge tea enthusiast and this is greatest thing to do on a free afternoon. The O.Henry is such a beautiful hotel and the staff are so accommodating. I always dress up for tea, it's like a ritual for me and friends. They do tea everyday from 2-5 and 12-5 on weekends.
