After a little breather, we're back and exploring Helsinki Finland with the sweet Noora Uusitalo @noorauusitalo, the Digital Channels Coordinator at Visit Finland @ourfinland. So yeah. it's pretty safe to guess she knows exactly what's up. "Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a vibrant seaside city of beautiful islands and great green parks. The city’s rhythm is laid back yet at the same time refreshingly active in terms of both the number and quality of restaurants and nightclubs. Needless to say, there’s something going on in Helsinki every day of the year." Pro tip : Pack warm clothes, Helsinki is a seaside city – so it can be really windy! "People are very open-minded and like to help out. Helsinki locals are trendy and they love coffee - Finland is one of the world’s largest consumers of coffee beans."
Hi there! I'm @noorauusitalo from Helsinki, Finland. Excited to share some of my favorite places with all of you. First up Kiasma - this is where art lives. It is the number one contemporary art museum in Finland. Ps. The entrance is my favorite, even if you don't like art just go and see the architecture (or go and get that one amazing shot for instagram)
Hello locals! 👋 Influences from both the East and the West are present in the everyday of Helsinki; architecture, cuisine, design, customs and even local street slang all bare evidence of a past under Russian and Swedish rule. The Uspenski Cathedral is a good example.
The eastern end of Helsinki, particularly the densely inhabited Kallio has sparked to life in recent years - it used to be rather rough working-class neighborhood. Now it is the home to the most inspirational array of bars, vintage shops, boutiques, galleries and more!
Hello locals! I love, love, love the architecture in Punavuori, Ullanlinna and Eira. In this area you can also find the street that has been voted most beautiful in Helsinki - I will share it with you later on this week!
This is Bronda, a cool restaurant by Helsinki’s culinary super duo Tomi Björck and Matti Wikberg. The place is fresh and impressive with high ceilings and large windows. The lounge bar is open until late and the cocktails are lovely!
🙌🏼 Cheers or Kippis (as we say here in Finland) - @noorauusitalo
Hi locals, hope your day has been lovely 👋 Today I am taking you to the most beautiful street in Helsinki, Huvilakatu! These beauties don't come cheap and are not often on sale - BUT you can find a flat from Huvilakatu for rent from Airbnb for your next Helsinki visit! Old houses do have an atmosphere of their own

Hey it's @noorauusitalo here, sharing my Helsinki tips for couple more days for all you out there. Helsinki is a great city for design hunters and Marimekko is the crown jewel. Fresh, bold colours and attention to detail - Finnis design isn't just something you see, it is something you experience!
The weekend is here meaning it is totally ok to treat yourself. Good place for that is Friends&Brgrs. They simply want to make great burgers - the kind of burgers they would like to eat themselves, and also serve to their friends! Friends & Brgrs only use fresh produce in their food, preferably from local farmers.
Yum! - @noorauusitalo

No matter what season it is, the beautiful oasis of exotic plants invites you to take a tour in the winter garden (Talvipuutarha), in Helsinki

If you have never tasted Finnish chocolate, you should! The classic one in blue wrapping by Fazer is a national favorite (Fazerin sininen). Karl Fazer decided to become a confectioner against his father’s wishes. He opened a French-Russian confectionery café at Kluuvikatu 3 in Helsinki on 17 September 1891. Nowadays the place is more than just a café - you can enjoy lunch and brunch and it's also a candy shop, yum!

Helsinki's oldest and best known park Kaivopuisto is surrounded by embassies and villas. At the highest point of the park is the Ursa Observatory. And next to the sea is this beautiful jetty (famous among instagrammers). Highly recommend taking a walk in the park!

Hi locals, it's @noorauusitalo here with my last post for @withthelocals A good place to end this week is at the airport, where you would most likely arrive when coming to Finland ✈️ I remember once there was a real terrible snow storm in all around Europe - and Helsinki airport was the only one running smoothly 👌🏼
Thank you @withthelocals for featuring Helsinki and me! You can find me here @noorauusitalo for more Helsinki (and Finland) tips
