This week, blogger and general all around creative Kelsey Goodrich @thegoodrichwife is showing us around Indianapolis, Indiana.
When I first stumbled upon Kelsey's blog, there was a photo series of her and her husband in their adorable home. In one of the shots, there is a painting - "Work Hard Stay Humble." And really, I can't think of a better sentiment for the Midwest. "Indianapolis is filled with very proud, hardworking people. That’s why the majority of them can be found in blue jeans, dirty work boots, and Carhartt jackets. Generally though, people in the heart of the city will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It’s that Midwestern sense of pride and community that I love. Indianapolis is full of surprises. It may look like your typical small Midwest city, but there are so many things about it that keep people coming back after they’ve visited. Also, Indy has such a sense of community about it. It’s as if everyone here is family. It’s a very welcoming place to be."
See you kids later,
KELSEY GOODRICH @thegoodrichwife
Good morning everyone! @thegoodrichwife here wishing everyone a happy and easy Monday. Those who have been following me for a while know I'm a crazy plant lady. That's why one of my favorite places in all of Indy is the Indiana Museum of Art's Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse and Shop. Not only is it a sweet little escape into a plant-lover's wonderland, you can also purchase plants and gifts here! There's 4 rooms filled with all kinds of plants, including the oh-so-popular succulents and air plants. Occasionally the IMA will host plant care classes there as well. It's an all-around happy place for me. Plus, it's a fun place to take photos 📷🌱
I always enjoy popping into @homespunindy on Mass Ave downtown to see what's new. They always have an amazing selection of goods handmade from our very own locals. Everything from art prints, to jewelry, to clothing, soaps and candles, and everything in between. Definitely the perfect place to pick up something one-of-a-kind and made with love.
My husband and I are very frequent antique mall shoppers, and we hit the mother load when we discovered Midland Arts & Antiques. Midland is two whole levels of an old warehouse building filled with over 200 independent art and antique dealers from around the Midwest. I actually purchased a large amount of my wedding decorations here. You never know what you're going to find. That's all for now
I consider #Bakersfield's Indianapolis location to be quite a gem. And I'm not the only one; the place is always hopping! My favorite tacos I've tasted in the city thus far, and it's an all-around neat place to be. I definitely recommend the Pollo Rojo tacos 👌

Honestly, this photo of a single mocha does not do @milktoothindy justice. Located near Fountain Square on Virginia Ave, Milktooth is the ultimate brunch restaurant that also offers counter service coffee and pastries. The place never ceases to amaze and surprise me. Next time I go, I plan on trying the Crunch Berry Cappuccino... 😗
Need a little tropical getaway without having to drive to the coast? The Garfield Park Conservatory is Indy's little exotic gem. It's the perfect place to rejuvenate, especially during those harsh Midwest winters. I could spend hours in here looking at all of the different plants. You'll completely forget you're even in the Midwest.
Good afternoon, and happy Friday everyone! It's payday, and Silver In The City @silverinthecity is Indy's one-stop shop for the best gifts for everyone on your list, including yourself. They carry some of my favorite products from people like @unitedstateofindiana, @stayhomeclubofficial, @tattly, and @riflepaperco. 🎁
Happy shopping! @thegoodrichwife
Hands down, my favorite late-night coffee hang out spot is Thirsty Scholar @thirstyscholarindy just north of downtown Indy. While most coffee shops close by 8 or 9, Thirsty Scholar is serving up coffee, beer, wine, and appetizers until 1am. Occasionally there will even be live music. So if you ever are in the area and want to meet up, chances are I'll suggest going here. 😉

I'm always on the lookout for mens stores that I think my husband will like (considering he enjoys shopping nearly as much as I do), so when I heard of @jamesdant_astoreformen I just had to take him there. Now, it's one of our most frequented stores in Indy! They have all of the essentials for the rugged, yet fashionable gentleman. Your man will not be disappointed, and neither will you.

I mentioned one of my favorite antique stores earlier this week; another one of them just so happens to be right around the corner! @societyofsalvage is a store of antiques and oddities that you wouldn't find at your average antique mall. Maybe you collect chemistry beakers, or old dentist utensils, or mid-century office furniture... The list could go on and on. My personal favorite part of the whole store? The wall of sign letters and marquees, obviously.

Sushi lovers, unite! Less than 10 minutes west of downtown lies Sushi Club; a hidden treasure of Indianapolis. Most people wouldn't take a chance on this place based on the outward appearance, but Sushi Club's sushi is is without a doubt my favorite sushi I've ever had in Indy. Not to mention, it's all-you-can-eat. Yes, ALL you can eat speciality and regular al-a-carte rolls. Word about them has spread so much over the couple years and the demand for their sushi became so high that they had to do away with their traditional menu and serve primarily sushi. My personal recommendation: the West 10th roll 😋
