We're doing it. We're going South. Born and bred Southern girl Courtney Rae Harrigan @thatkentuckygrl is our guide and she takes her southern roots very seriously. Specifically, we're exploring Louisville Kentucky and it's going to be without a doubt charming. The food, the people, the architecture, the history, the horses. Really damn charming! "Get off the beaten path... Kentucky in general is one of the most beautiful states to venture off the highway and explore all you can!"
Hey everyone!!! It's Courtney, @thatkentuckygrl, coming to you from the city I was born and raised in, Louisville! I hope to show you all some fantastical places all around my city this week...and to start things off let's have a heart to heart.
It's Monday. The weekend is over and the beginning to a long work week is upon us. So in reverence of such I'm going all out people!!! I'm taking you to one of my favorite coffee shops for All. The. Cookies. 🙀🙀🙀 The fantastical shop of Please and Thank You ( @plsthnks ) has what are widely known around Louisville to be the best chocolate chip cookies you've ever had, and I can personally attest to this! And if the cookies aren't enough they have other yummies and some seriously top notch coffee too. So let's put a big ol' hand in the face to Monday and get our fun on!
(at Please and Thank you)
So let's face it, we went a bit crazy with the cookies yesterday. So keeping that in mind I thought we could take a stroll through one of many amazing Louisville neighborhoods today.
The historic "Old Louisville" neighborhood is one of the largest Victorian areas in the U.S., and pretty much every facade you pass looks like something plucked straight out of the movie Clue!
It's the perfect place for a walk because, fun fact, it also has more pedestrian-only streets than any other neighborhood in the country! That's right. So let's work off some of that chocolate and hit the road jack! Or sidewalk in this case

Hey everyone! So today I thought we could do us a little shopping! My favorite area to throw some money at is downtown Louisville, there are so many local stores to chose from so it can be quite daunting. One thing I personally love is checking out all of the antique stores in a city and we have one here that is truly a ma zing!
Joe Ley Antiques houses 2 acres of treasures in an old 1890 schoolhouse. The building alone is pure eye candy and what's inside ranges anywhere from books and dishes, to carousel animals and clowns...and the inventory is constantly changing so you'll never see the same place twice. This is where serious collectors go, but you don't have to be one to enjoy this dream of a shop. It's a must see on the Louisville list

Another stop on our downtown shopping excursion is upon us. This time we're searching for a bit of everything....clothing, accessories, maybe even some home accents. And on top of that we want a nice selection of local Kentucky artisans to chose from...man, tall order! Well not if you're stepping into the lovely shop of gifthorse!
@gifthorseshop has a perfect array of all I mentioned above...and I absolutely love the store layout. I don't know about you all but there's just something about a rack of minimal clothing that sends me into a tizzy! And they ship, so even if you aren't in the city you can still have a little Kentucky with you! Awe.
So head on over to this fantastical spot and tell Shawn I sent you! Oh and make sure to say hello to their beyond adorable pup Abraham! I wanted to take him, and about 3 hats home with me

After all of that strolling and shopping I'm becoming quite hungry...so I thought we should stop at one of my very favorite Louisville eateries @gralehaus !! This delicious local restaurant boasts some of the very best coffee in the city in my opinion...using all natural ingredients too, you won't find any flavored syrups in this place. They also have stellar beer choices if you're feeling something a bit more saucy, and of course even more fantastic food! Gralehaus is a breakfast/lunch stop and shares a garden with the equally amazing Holy Grale which is a church turned bar and has the best burger you will ever experience and an extensive beer list. So you can easily float between both places...cool right? So let's talk about what we have in front of us shall we.
Fresh squeezed orange juice made in house, a seriously delicious maple latte, and for the big winner ...a big ol bowl of biscuits and gravy with a sunny side egg adorning the top. But it's not your everyday gravy people ...no no, that's too easy. This is a big ol bowl of duck sausage gravy....and I can't even explain to you how nom it is. Just come on over to @gralehaus and see for yourself. Your taste buds will thank me
Cheers! Court @thatkentuckygrl

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is upon us and to start things off right I'm heading out for a cuppa and chasing some facades today.
When I'm craving a stellar latte I always head to @atlanticno5 !
This eatery is my favorite spot for all things snack like ...they have the most yummy scones and muffins. And they use in season ingredients so the menu is always fresh and changing. You'll never get bored with this place. Check them out next time you're in downtown Lou!

It's Saturday, and that means a morning of farmers markets ! My favorite one in Louisville is the @douglassloopfarmersmarket
Here you can check out vendors from not only Louisville, but all over Kentucky ranging from food to home good and body products as well. They are open every Saturday rain or shine so come on out and start the morning off right

I love walking around Louisville and checking out all of the storefronts and home facades. This particular one is a favorite of mine and is located in Nulu (new Louisville) which is a lovely area of downtown. Nothing better than a yellow door I say !
