Let's get something out of the way. Yes, it's true. Winters in Minneapolis are very cold and very long and only for the very brave. Personally, I think crazy climates tend to make for interesting locals. With a windchill below zero, you've got to do something to keep yourself busy.
Local Breanna Rose @imbreannarose, #Minneapolis based graphic designer, is just that. Extremely friendly, stylish, creative, and therefore busy. She launched her own studio, Rowan Made @rowanmade in 2014 and co-founded Be Free, Lance @befree_lance an online workshop for creatives who are looking to boost their freelancing game. On her feed, you'll see that Bre has lots has personality and good taste. Plus she loves brunch, pizza, homemade ice cream, and the occasional day-drink. Sooo... we already love her.
Keep warm, stay creative
Hey guys! My name is Bre (@imbreannarose) and I'm SO excited to show you around my home town, Minneapolis. I have a lot of love for this city (and it's people) and can't wait to share some of my favorite spots with you all!
This photo was taken from the highway, on my way into the city. No matter how many times I drive this route, the view is still my favorite. :)
Today is actually my birthday, so I'm eating at some of my favorite places! First up, The Buttered Tin. It's hands down my go to for a good brunch. PLUS, they have a case of baked goods that are to die for. I can never say no. ;)

It's true ... Our winters can be (very) cold & long, but they can also be absolutely beautiful. It was above freezing today, so my husband and I visited Minnehaha Falls, a frozen favorite. We hiked down some icy steps and watched fellow locals crazily hike up behind the falls and slide all the way back down. A must visit if you dress warmly. ;)

Just had an amazing birthday dinner at Bar La Grassa, which is hands down one of my favorite places to get Italian food in the city. If you go, make sure to try the gnocchi with cauliflower orange cream sauce!👌

I always love stopping into @foragemodern_mn, a local shop with a carefully curated selection of goods. AKA, everything you ever want. ;)
Another fun store to pop into is @shopmille! They have a little bit of everything in a smaller space, so you can take your time browsing instead of feeling overwhelmed! Side note : I wish I could pull off hats. I can't.
Enjoyed an awesome mexican dinner with my husband & sister in law this evening at Barrio! Guacamole, check. Enchiladas, check! SO stuffed.
Our favorite ice cream joint in the cities is DEFINITELY Izzy's! You get a cone or dish, like normal, and then can select another flavor for a tiny "izzy" scoop on top. It's the best way to try out new flavors! This time I got a full on ice cream cookie sandwich, though, cause why not??

I hope you all don't mind all of these food recs, cause I have a few more to share. ;) This is from @bogartsdoughnuts... another must visit in Minneapolis! The designer in me loves their branding and gets giddy at the minimal space with pops of bright red. Plus, donuts. 🍩
To be completely honest, sometimes Minnesota looks a lot like this (photo taken a month or so ago, today is actual clear and sunny!). But really, I wouldn't have it any other way. We get to experience all seasons and live in a surreal snow globe every once in awhile. It's a beautiful place, truly.
Another great brunch spot in Minneapolis: @wiseacreeatery ... They also have a full on living wall inside that is the star of many instagram shots. But I chose to focus on the food because it's pretty awesome, too. ;)
Love popping into @sprucemn over on 50th & France whenever I'm in the area. There's no stopping me from bringing home all the cute little succulents and air plants. Sorry not sorry. 🌿
Looks like my time sharing the ins and outs of #minneapolis over this past week is coming to a close. SO! To finish up, I'm posting this photo from Interstate State Park, a beautiful little area just 45 minutes northeast of the Twin Cities, perfect for a day trip of hiking + climbing on rocks along the Mississippi River. And that's one of the things that I love about living here ... adventure is never that far away. ;) For more Minneapolis adventures, feel free to follow my personal account @imbreannarose ... it's been fun!
