Monterey Bay California
So, technically we're breaking our own rules. Whatever, we're feeling (extra) sassy this week and we're rolling with it. Instead of exploring a city, we're touring an area - alifornia' Monterey Bay. Carmel native Sarah Higgins @sarah_inpursuit - Art Director, Graphic Designer, Blogger, All Around Sweetheart.
Sarah radiates a positivity that I've come to really admire. A bit bout her hashtag project over on her blog, sarahinpursuit.co . "I’m so grateful for the life I am building for myself and I never want to take any of it for granted. never want to live life day in and day out without making the effort to grow or learn... I hope you will join me in tagging your photos #liveinpursuit as a reminder to play an active role in our lives and to live in pursuit of what makes life good." "The Monterey Bay is a peninsula of a few towns, Carmel, Monterey, and Pacific Grove, among others. Each town has its own charms. Carmel is loaded with delicious restaurants, shops and art galleries. It's a little bit fancy with quaintness of a small town. Monterey is its down to Earth cousin. The outdoor activities are endless and on a clear day you can see all the way across the water to Santa Cruz. Pacific Grove is a sleepy neighborhood town where you would want your kids to grow up." 📷: @annahowardstudios

Hey all, @sarah_inpursuit here. I'm excited to be taking over the feed this week, sharing all my favorite spots in the Monterey Bay, the area in which I grew up and returned to a couple of years ago. Looking forward to the upcoming week. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I will.
California has been going through a very serious drought, the worst in history, as most of you probably know. It's been raining since last night and that makes me rejoice. And it also makes me want to snuggle up with a hot cup of coffee and a good book.

Pacific Grove showing off its charm. I've always dreamt of living in one of those old Victorian homes. They have so much character and history. @sarah_inpursuit

Stopped at the farmer's market on my way to the Brit. At least I'll balance out the beer with some vegetables.
I'm training for my first marathon and so I'm logging many many miles per week. One of my favorite things about the area is the coastal trail that stretches for miles along the water. It makes the miles pass easier with a view like this.

We've got farmer's markets covered here. My favorite market is on Fridays at our local community college. This market has every you'd need. I love shopping for weekend meals, the meals I put a little more effort into.
There are tons of amazing restaurants all over the Monterey Bay Area, but a few of my favorites are in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. These go-to restaurants include @mundakacarmel, #labalenacarmel, @flahertysseafood, and #labicyclette. There really are so many great places but these few just hold a special place in my heart.
Our little peninsula has so many different landscapes, dense forests with pine trees and redwoods, desert brush, and the rocky coast. It's one thing I love about this area. You can always come across a unique view no matter where you go.

It's off to bed for me. I have an early wake up call tomorrow morning to run the #halfmarathononmontereybay. I'm hoping for cool temps and clear skies. See you all tomorrow.

It was a beautiful day for the #halfmarathononmontereybay. The weather was perfect and the runners were looking good out there. Now it's time to eat some grub and relax. Happy Sunday!
