San Francisco California
Kristin Farr, a woman of many killer talents- artist, journalist, media producer, a true triple threat. @kristinfarr being a contributing editor for Juxtapoz Magazine @juxtapozmag, I first noticed her name in print when she conducted a brilliantly funny interview with artist David Shrigley (go check it out!). I googled to find her email- to tell her how much I loved her interviews, and found that she is also a powerhouse of an artist. From paintings, interviews, pants, to even chairs - her work, whatever the medium, is always colorful and one of a kind. Be sure to check out her feed, your inner child will thank you.
Until next week, @campwilson #outwithlocals #localxSF
hi! i’m @kristinfarr and i’ll be showing you around the San Francisco bay area this week! in typical SF style, we had a big earthquake last night. here are some ponies on the beach to calm the nerves. Point Reyes National Seashore is a short drive from the city. ☀️🐎
when in San Francisco, visit @heathceramics shop and tile factory. their artful design objects are made “to resist trends, be loved, and last a lifetime.” even if you’re not in the market for new dishes, it’s worth a visit, and you can enjoy an SF staple, @bluebottle coffee, at the cafe inside.
you can see many murals around San Francisco. Balmy and Clarion alleys in the Mission district have tons. this is a detail of a building covered in art by @sirronnorris. he has murals all over the city and he drew the backgrounds for the Fox cartoon show, Bob’s Burgers. all the buildings and neighborhoods on that show are inspired by SF!
@marlabakery has two locations in San Francisco including this teeny tiny sidewalk cafe with delicious sweets, vegan and otherwise. stop by and say hi to @thatsouthernbell, who roasts a mean coffee bean.
@alitedesigns has the coolest camping gear, featuring backpacks, chairs, tents and more artful objects that always look fresh, whether you’re camping or just carrying your stuff around town. the best artists and designers in the west work with Alite, including my pal @trumplip.

i just got this beautiful book from @lastgasp, a comix and art book publisher that has a long history in San Francisco. they make gorgeous books like this one all the time. they also have new books out by @theartofskinner and @jayhowell.
(at Last Gasp)
baseballs! ⚾️ i’m not very sportsy but my work took us to a San Francisco giants game today for some “team building.” our ballpark is old school, made with bricks, and the big home runs splash into the bay. i’m going to get a crab sandwich now, that’s the main reason i’m here.
(at AT&T Park)
if you’re not from San Francisco you might not know that our less famous bridge, the bay bridge, isn’t just lit up, it’s covered in the largest ever LED light sculpture, #thebaylights by leo villareal. the lights dazzle and flicker and move around. it’s fancy.
(at The Bay Lights)
the aesthetic union is a new print shop in San Francisco where you can see the beautiful press in action and pick up some unique, handmade paper goods.

@ybca has a big space with tons of art and performance going on all the time. currently (until october) you can see their triennial exhibit of bay area artists #ban7 where i’m showing some work with pals from another great SF spot @adobebookshop @lorigordon @doubleabray @erikotto
if you’re thrifty, @thrifttown is a huge thrift shop the size of a department store. there are 14 stores and the one in the mission district in San Francisco is like their flagship store. they have everything.
