One of my favorite places to go for breakfast is @steadfastcoffee in Germantown. Such great people. Not only do they have great coffee, but they also have great tea and granola! They also have a great dinner menu. -@benlalisan
Cheekwood is one of my top favorite places to visit. Throughout the year, they showcase art installations throughout the grounds and inside the mansion. There are ponds, trails and a Japanese botanical garden. They even have a treehouse near the entrance. Fun fact: During an evening singer-songwriter night, I was invited to shoot photos from the top of the mansion. So much fun! Looking forward to my next visit to @cheekwood -@benlalisan
I enjoy the occasion when I get to spend time at @peternappi - located on the easternmost side of Germantown. The people are warm and welcoming. It's a very special place - rustic and beautiful. Like a little piece of old world Italy. The boots, of course, are equally beautiful. I love mine. -@benlalisan
I never thought I'd be so into ramen until I stopped in @otakusouthramen in The Gulch - a trendy neighborhood with great restaurants and upscale urban living. One visit here and I was hooked. Also, one of the rules I learned about Japanese ramen culture is to dive right in as soon as your bowl hits the table. This particular bowl is called shoyu. Additionally, I get the duck buns every time. Delicious. 🍜 -@benlalisan
Looking forward to the weekend. @pinewoodsocial is the perfect place to meet up with friends for some really great food and conversation. They have a bowling alley, bocce ball court, pool, bar, and work table (with power outlets down the middle.) They also serve @cremacrema coffee which is always good. -@benlalisan
Moving on down to the 12South neighborhood, after starting the morning at @frothymonkey for coffee, I love stopping in at @imogenewillie. Not only do they have quality denim, but the people who work there are incredibly friendly. The shop layout changes all the time and the vibe is perfect. And when you have a moment, read their story. Here's a little tidbit: imogene + willie are the first names of co-owner, Carrie Eddmenson's maternal grandparents. -@benlalisan
Downtown Franklin - Just 20 miles south of Nashville, I lived in Franklin for four years and love hanging out in Downtown Franklin. The place is something out of movies. @gardenandgun named Franklin as Greatest Southern Town and rightly so. It's got charming local boutiques, exceptional restaurants, friendly people and rich history. Among many of the important landmarks in Franklin, Gray's is one of the original spots along Main Street. For decades it served the Franklin community as a pharmacy. Reopened in 2012, it is now a wonderful restaurant with pieces of its past througout. The owners took careful consideration in its restoration and they did an amazing job. Make sure you show @visitfranklintn some love and see what it's all about! -@benlalisan
As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the sweet, sweet smell of chocolate. @oliveandsinclair is Tennessee's first and only bean-to-bar chocolate company and they're based right here in the Lockeland Springs neighborhood of East Nashville. On Saturdays they give free tours! P.S. Mother's Day is in two days. -@benlalisan
One of my all-time favorite spots. The Natchez Trace Bridge. You get an amazing view from up here. In this shot you're looking west along 96. The Natchez Trace is a beautiful drive especially in the fall when the trees are vibrant with red, orange and yellow. -@benlalisan
Nashville has an awesome, connected greenway. You can run, walk or bike here. A great place to get your fitness on, there is an outdoor gym by the amphitheater downtown and soon at the Percy Priest Dam, canoe rentals will be available. All throughout the network, you can rent bicycles. The Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge, connects Two Rivers Park and Shelby Bottoms Park or in the context of neighborhoods, Donelson to East Nashville. It's one of my favorite places to watch a sunset.
I've had a wonderful time giving you a tiny glimpse into Nashville. If I could, I'd show you a ton more. Follow me at @benlalisan and I'll continue to show you around!
