In my very humble opinion, when it comes to @instagram, @whatimholding is the total package. Interesting, smart, fun, a tad silly, all while bringing attention to other really positive people and brands. A unique voice, a hand, and some stuff, an odd formula for being wildly charming. “It was a beautiful day in August, Summer 2014. My friends and I were joking about how much I love products, packaging and design and, in reality, to hold things, look at things, and, feel things. In short, it grew out of my love to hold the things that I love to hold. Confused yet? :) When I first started taking the photos, my friends and family made fun of me but after about 6 months I began to gain traction on Instagram, gaining followers who really engaged with the account through comments and direct messages. Soon after, I started getting introduced to people, brands, and establishments who wanted me to come by and hold things. People always want to know what I'll be holding next. The whole experience has been amazing and I'm so grateful. I've connected with some of the most interesting people and brands, learned about all walks of life. It's fascinating hearing people's' stories.
My feed also serves as a photographic diary. When I look back at old posts I see friends, family, lovers, travels, experiences, and all beautiful things I've held since I began.” As it turns out, this hand is a native New Yorker and that’s kind of the extent of what we know about the mysterious @whatimholding, at least for now. Though I think we'll get to know @whatimholding a bit better this week.
@whatimholding: Going up on a Tuesday... Best thing about living in NYC? Culture, culture everywhere! Screenings at the @IFCcenter, pop-ups like the Museum of Feelings, the grande dames of the Met Opera & Met Museum, every major sport, we have it all!

@whatimholding: NYC is known for its bagels and I’m counting on this one from @BlackSeedBagels to pull me over the hump of Hump Day. I mean just look at it: Baked egg, Swiss, avocado, and tomato on a toasted everything bagel. Omm nom nom.

@whatimholding: Need hostess gifts for your weekend holiday parties? Stocking stuffers? Presents? Nolita’s @LoveAdorned has you covered. They have EVERYTHING: home decor, jewelry, stuff for the kiddos, and best of all, it’s not what you see in every other store! Picked up this “Holy Wood” incense by Palo Santo. It comes from Ecuador and the smoke will cleanse your home and cure your hangover.

@whatimholding: Did someone say Fri-yay? I’ll be celebrating the end of the week old school style at my high school haunt Corner Bistro in the West Village. Never been? It’s definitely worth checking out. May not be the newest place on the block but it’s quality eats.

@whatimholding: Growing up in NYC, Saturdays were for museums in my family. The new Whitney Museum of American Art @whitneymuseum in the Meat Packing District is a must see! Go before/after a stroll on the High Line, pop over to Chelsea Market after for some local eats. A+ Saturday.

@whatimholding: Sunday breakfast in New York = bacon, egg, and cheese, now, always and forever. Finishing my week off with the “BEC Classic” from BEC NYC @bec_nyc: over-easy eggs, smoked bacon, sharp cheddar on IL Forno Bakery’s @ilfornobakery signature brioche bun. Think I may follow this up with a walk in Central Park. Classic NYC.
