“When you say Orlando most people first think of Disney World. Ask any local about Disney, and we will probably roll our eyes and explain how we are so much more than amusement parks. Contrary to popular belief Disney isn't in Orlando. It's in Bay Lake FL. Which is about 25 minutes away. When visiting Orlando avoid the touristy areas. That's not the real Orlando, and you won't get an authentic experience. There are so many great neighborhoods around Downtown Orlando that will give you a real taste for the city.” Born and raised Orlando Local, Brittany Reagan @britt.reagan - “5 thing about me.... I got married 7 months ago to @clarkorr. Launched a new lifestyle brand with my husband this past July called Hellcats Inc. @hellcatsinc, I own another business where I sell handmade and vintage goods @goodcompanyco, I eat too much fast food. I'm a proud introvert.
Florida is so dynamic and fun to explore, but my favorite part will alway be Orlando. Orlando has a constant growing art scene. So many talented creatives and makers are doing really cool stuff here. I love to get to be apart of that growth. It seems like there is always a new local shop, or restaurant opening. Have I mentioned we have amazing food!? We have amazing food!” #localxOrlando #outwithlocals
Hey everyone! @britt.reagan here. Im thrilled to get to show you around some of my personal favorite spots here in Orlando this week.
3 months ago today our city was rocked by a senseless tragedy that was fueled by hate. 49 innocent people lost their lives, and our city was forever changed. This community that I'm so proud to call mine didn't sit around and do nothing. Everyone found a way to use their gifts to help. People stood in huge lines waiting to donate blood, and those who couldn't passed out water or popsicles to those standing in long lines on a hot Summer day. Doctors and nurses worked overtime and volunteered their time. So many local artists including my husband @clarkorr designed Orlando themed art prints, t-shirts, and stickers to raise money to help. Local restaurants and bars made special cocktails, beer, and food to raise money to help. Local businesses threw fundraisers after fundraiser to raise money to help. I could go on and on. It was truly moving to see and continue to see Orlando stand united with our LGBTQ community. We are full of so much pride. We choose love over hate. Orlando will forever be strong. Since June 12th muralist have added even more beautiful art to this city in dedication to the 49. This one by @aelderado is one of my favorites around town. It's located in the Milk District. ❤️ @britt.reagan ❤️💛💚💙💜
Next stop here in Orlando is @blackbeandeli for lunch. This place has gooood Cuban food! It also feels like you're straight up in Havana while you're there. My favorite thing on the menu is the papas rellenas and the fried yuca. The garlic mojo sauce is the best! You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu.
This one is located in the Mills 50 district. They also have another location in Winter Park, but that one is much smaller. More of a take out spot. ❤️ @britt.reagan

Now let's go to Greenwood Urban Wetland! My husband @clarkorr and I both work from home, and sometimes we just need some fresh air. I love coming here and enjoying the beautiful cypress trees among the swampy waters. It's one of the most unique parks Orlando has to offer. It's tucked away, and most people might not even realize it's there. There is a paved trail that goes around the entire Lake Greenwood with gorgeous views on either side. There are charming bridges that connect parts of the trail together. Lots of great shaded grassy spots throughout the park. Perfect for an afternoon picnic with some takeout from @marketonsouth or @903millsmarket. There is also a chance you might spot an owl or bald eagle while you're there. ❤️ @britt.reagan
Good morning folks! Our first stop today here in Orlando is @lineagecoffeeroasting. They roast the best coffee in town! The owners are such great people who have a true passion for the craft. My husband goes there almost every morning to get his fix. I love to stop by and visit with friends like this gal behind the counter, it's a local hot spot for sure. It's located inside @eastendmkt which has other great local shops like @porchtherapy, @konbini.eem, and @skyebirdorganic. The outside patio is one of my favorite parts of the market. Its full of plants! Its a nice and relaxing spot to sit and enjoy your coffee as well as enjoy the weather. It's located in the Audubon Park neighborhood. ❤️ @britt.reagan
Need a vinyl fix? Park Ave CDs gotcha covered. It's an Orlando staple. They have been around for over 30 years. It use to be located on Park Ave in Winter Park years ago. Hence the name. They also sell CDs, books, t-shirts and other fun gifts. Get a $5 grab bag of 10 mystery CDs. Youll Mostly likely get something real weird, but that's part of the fun! @parkavecds is located in the Audubon Park neighborhood ❤️ @britt.reagan
One of my favorite local bars here in Orlando is @redlightredlight. They have been around since 2005 and were at the forefront of the Orlando craft beer scene. It's been named one of the best craft beer bars in the South. They are not only a craft beer parlour, but a brewery as well. They also offer classes if you want to sophisticate your craft beer palate. The bar is located in an old AC shop so, it's got a COOL layed back vibe. See what I did there?! Most nights you'll find a food truck parked out front or back. It's a good night if @ssontheroll is there! So go get a beer, enjoy a roll, and maybe even catch a local band. Oh, and if you get a sweet tooth head a few shops down to @pisforpiebakeshop. So good!
It's located in the Audubon Park neighborhood right down from our last location Park Ave CDs. ❤️ @britt.reagan
I'm a junk food junkie, and I love some good fast food. It would feel wrong not to mention Beefy King. It's an Orlando legend. I don't think it's changed a bit since it opened 40 years ago. It's perfect for a quick inexpensive lunch. Get yourself a delicious roast beef sandwich and some tots. You can thank me later. @beefykingorlando is located in the Milk District neighborhood. ❤️ @britt.reagan
If you are into the odd and morbid like me than @carmineboutique is your place! It's like a museum of creepy. So happy to have such a great oddities shop in town. Every time I go there I want everything! Check their Facebook to see what events they have going on in the back of the shop. Maybe you can catch a classic horror movie night! Located in the College Park neighborhood. 💀❤️ @britt.reagan
Buttermilk Bakery ( @ilovebuttermilk ) has been setting up at markets around Orlando for awhile now, but they just recently opened a brick a mortar shop. Everyone already can't stop talking about them, and for good reason. Their croissants alone are the best you'll find in Florida. They have other amazing baked goods as well as a fresh lunch menu on weekdays. They also serve local coffee from @lineagecoffeeroasting. It's such a fresh and relaxing atmosphere. you'll fall in love right away like I did. They are located in Winter Park. ❤️ @britt.reagan
I can't leave @riflepaperco off my list. I worked there for over three years before working for myself full time. I also met my husband there! So it's obviously a special place for me.
@annariflebond and Nathan Bond started Rifle back in 2009. It's been really neat to see how big it has grown, and continues to grow. Most people don't even realize it started here in Orlando. The storefront is so charming and has not only the cutest paper goods, but loads of other great gifts too. If you are lucky enough to travel here when they are having their famous sidewalk sales, then make sure to bring an extra suitcase. You'll want to get everything!
Since your in the neighborhood walk a few blocks down to Park Ave. it's the gem of Winter Park. Big moss hanging oak trees, cobble stone streets, parks, shops, and great restaurants. A few of my favorite restaurants on Park Ave are Briarpatch for breakfast, @pratowp for lunch, and @cocina214 for dinner. They have the best margaritas! ❤️ @britt.reagan
@caskandlarder is a southern public house and brewery. They serve some of the best food in Orlando. It's such warm and inviting place. A perfect date night spot. The owners have several other amazing restaurant around the city. Right next door is @swineandsons. It's a great casual lunch spot and market. Down the road is @theravenouspig. Another great date spot. They are also getting ready to open their third restaurant in 2017 at Disney Springs called The Polite Pig. Can't wait for that! Cask & Larder is located in Winter Park. ❤️ @britt.reagan
Another great coffee shop that adds a lot to our city is @downtowncredo. They are a donations only coffee shop. They have three locations around Orlando. Each location has its own charm. It's worth it to go check them all out. There's one in College Park, Florida Hospital Heath Village, and in the Downtown Orlando Exchange Building. They will be opening their fourth location soon in the North Quarter neighborhood. The photo shown is their Florida Hospital location. This location as well as their College Park location are the perfect spots to grab a coffee and settle in to get work done. The Orlando Exchange Building is a great grab and go spot. The building it's in is beautiful! ❤️ @britt.reagan
You can never have too many paper goods or paper goods shops. Orlando is lucky enough to be the home of @9thletterpress. My friend @isabel9thlp is the designer and owner. She's one of the sweetest people you'll meet. When you stop by maybe you'll be lucky enough to see her printing on her antique letterpress. The shop is so cute and not only has paper goods, but loads of candles, books, jewelry and other great gifts. Not to mention they carry some of my @goodcompanyco goods 😉. Located in Winter Park. ❤️ @britt.reagan
@enziantheater is another Orlando staple. They are a nonprofit arthouse movie theater. They host the Florida Film Festival as well as many other local film festivals. It's the perfect dinner and a movie spot. Go catch an indie movie or cult classic while enjoying some delicious dinner. After go grab a cocktail at the Eden Bar located outside. It's kinda the perfect date night idea. Also Spice World! That's all I have to say. located in Maitland. ❤️ @britt.reagan
The Strand is not only a cute and charming spot for lunch in Orlando, but it's so good! They use local farm fresh ingredients and there's always a classic black and white movie playing on the TV. I love the warm pretzel and pamento cheese. My mouth is watering thinking about it! @strandorlando is located in the Mills 50 district. ❤️ @britt.reagan
@riseabovefl is the best tattoo shop in Orlando in my opinion. If you are like me and like to get tattooed when you travel, well than here you go! You can't go wrong with any of the artists there. My husband and I live right around the corner from the shop and frequently like to stop by to see friends like this guy @scottwhitearmy. Some of my favorite tattoos I have I got from him. After you get tattooed reward yourself with some food from @pigfloyds (so good) and then grab a beer at @willspub or @lil_indies. Located in the Mills 50 district. ❤️ @britt.reagan
@the_guesthouse is my favorite bar in Orlando. It's also a huge perk that it's in walking distance from my house, or maybe that's a bad thing. I can't decide. Their happy hour is the greatest and often times @laempanadatruck is parked out front. Cocktails and empanadas goes together perfectly. Trust me! We almost always run into friends there when we go. It's become our regular spot. Located in the Mills 50 district. ❤️ @britt.reagan
I've loved getting to show you around some of my favorite Orlando spots this week. I hope I've given you a good taste of what our city has to offer. To end this week I thought I would tell you about one of my favorite and the most iconic spot in Orlando. Lake Eola! It's also home to the famous giant swan paddle boats. Yes, I said giant swan paddle boats! My mom would take us here as kids for picnics, and to feed the many birds that call the lake home. It's a special place. There is a trail that circles the entire lake and it offers the best view of downtown. A lot of people like to jog around it. I prefer to sit on a blanket under a willow tree eating some ice cream, and watch the non-lazy people exercise. Try it, it's fun! It's also in walking distance to Thornton Park. Another charming Orlando neighborhood that's worth a visit. The historic homes make me drool! Thanks for joining me this week, and I hope you come visit Orlando and don't just hangout at the amusement parks! You can continue to follow my Orlando and beyond adventures on my Instagram @britt.reagan ❤️
